SearchOur green energy and recycling centre provides a valuable resource to the local business community. Since 2015, we have evolved our operation through a series of investments, aiming to protect the local environment, create value added products, and producing green energy resources.
Sitting on four acres of land, our facility processes over 4,500 tonnes of green waste a year. The vast majority of the waste is recycled into a value-added product, such as compost, play-bark or woodchip, which in turn is used to heat the commercial and residential buildings situated on the St Margaret’s Estate. Our high-end biomass boilers produce up to 2MW of heat per annum from a renewable source; we are literally turning waste into energy.
The recycling centre provides a valuable resource to the local horticultural industry, providing them with a hub for the responsible disposal of garden waste. This has had a significant impact on reducing fly tipping in the local areas – we are giving business the opportunity to responsibly dispose of their waste, reducing the impact of travelling further afield to do so. This results in a cost saving for them, and also reduces local traffic and emissions.
